  3. I like you attempt to add more detail and thought to your answers, KG. I can see from the reading that you do, your sentence structure is quite good.

You have done a good job using information from the photo to answer this question.
I agree with you, I think Malala will continue to fight for what she believes is right.

  4. In question 3 you have a few more commas that are necessary. The sentence could have read: If Malala does return to Pakistan, I think she will fight for her fellow friends and family that are not able to go to school because they are women, or young girls.

If you ever want to check how your writing sounds, copy and paste it into Read and Write Gold to check for errors.

  5. You took your time with this production and it looks really relaxing. Your are right, it is very soothing to look at.

The colours blend together and really complement one another. Try to keep this image in your head when you feel a little down or angry. You seem to be keeping some positive thoughts and feelings with you a lot this year. I am impressed.

Shh, can you hear the birds chirping?

  6. this artical was about the director of the school board Chris Spence, he had set a bad example on the younge children of torontno

    ReplyDelete
  7. he has got caught copying others work (plagiarism), this has put a bad effect on Spence, he had decided to apologized to the children in Toronto school board which was the best idea in this situation. Someone had investigated , looked to see if he had copied anything else, and found out that he had done plagiarism earlier in his life earlier in his life after this was found everything had torn apart Chris Spence had quit his job. There will be someone replacing Spence until they find someone to take over his place

This reminds me of when I was in grade seven (last year) I had to do a presentation with a partner, but me and my partner did not want to do as much work, so we copied some stuff off a website and claimed it as ours I soon got cough and got no mark for it.

Now I know that plagiarism really gets you now where and when you get nowhere you get nothing

I think that what Chris Spence and I did was truly wrong.

I wonder why he did it and what he was thinking when he did it.

Maybe he will find a new job and maybe he will stop doing plagiarism.

I learned that you don’t need other peoples work because you have you own thought, and that nobody likes other people taking their work and calling it their own.

  8. You have done a great job going through the article in detail and I can see you understand how difficult this has been for Dr. Spence and the students of the TDSB who were inspired by him.
You have done a good job making a connection with this based on your own experience with plagiarism. The consequences of doing this can be really serious and this is a good, but sad example of what can happen when you cheat.
You raise a good question about what he was thinking about when he did it. I wonder that to, especially when you are a person where so many people look up to you. I wonder what type of job he will find. Do you think he will able to be a Principal or teacher again?
I understand, in life, that people make mistakes and need other chances to show that they want to improve and do something different. Because of this, I really think he has learned his lesson in relation to copying/plagiarizing.
Your concluding paragraph is very strong. Some people, I guess, don’t feel confident in what they write so they feel the need to copy. As I have mentioned before, I am impressed with your efforts and I really enjoy reading your ideas.

  11. who is Mathieu da Costa?

Q:1. Da Costa is the first person with African descent to go to Canada. His African name was Lusofonia, he was born in the late 1500's and died early 1600's.

why did Mathieu da Costa decide to move to Canada?

Q:2. Mathieu da Costa was known as an interpreter, and translator

    ReplyDelete
  12. Alright, you are making progress. You only have 2 more questions to go. If you need some help thinking about it, ask me. Be sure to look at the chart to keep track of the different ways of asking the questions.
    Keep up the hard work.

  13. what would happen if Mathieu da Costa did not move to Canada and become a interpreter, and translater?

    ReplyDelete
  14. That looks like the last one could be your Level 1 or 2 question. You will have to think about the kind of things Mathieu did for Canada (you would know this from your research) and have to use your imagination and that big brain of yours to imagine what would have happened if this very important man had not come to Canada when he did!

Ask me about this, if you need to and work on completing that last question. Good work!

  15. It looks as thought the Level 4 is the last question that is missing for your research. Look at the chart to finalize your last question: http://amgfun.blogspot.ca/2013/02/wednesday-february-13-2013.html

Good work, Tia, for catching up on this important Canadian person.

  16. i think that it would take longer for who ever Mathieu da Costa was helping

  17. Q:4 How would Da Costa live if he did not become an translator/interpreter?

How this works is if you were mixed there is one way you could have a chance to not be slave, and that is if the white side of you family allows you to be treated as if you white, but they could also make you a slave, so since Mathieu da Costa was mixed with white (Portuguese) and black (African) he could have been ether be a slave or be treated well, it all depends on his family's choice, so it was really smart for him to be an interpreter/translator.

  18. Hmmm. I like this last question, Kiara. Great thinking.
Your answer is also well thought out. I would make sure that your answers are written in full sentences. If you look carefully at what you wrote, it is one long sentence!

When your animated characters speak, it would be in one long, run on sentence.
    Good work.

  19. Q:3. i think that if Mathieu did not become an interpreter or translator they most like wouldn't have been able to communicate with the other people because they would be talking a long time to find another mixed person or someone that knows more then one language.

  20. What was your Level 3 question?
Was it, What might Mathieu DaCosta have done if he wasn't a translator?

You know what language he was translating, right?
This guy was really smart. He knew French, Dutch and Portuguese and was a translator between the Europeans and some of the Aboriginal people (the Mi'kmaq) near the St. Lawrence River on the north shore.

He was really important in setting up the Europeans to trading and settling in Canada. You can also look on the Internet for some more specific information on this important Canadian guy.

For your Strengths, your athletic abilities and strength can be paired together.

How does having style help you? What does it do for you?
Don't worry about Part c) of the assignment because I need to think about that a little more. It will involve using these jot notes.
